Dan Weemhoff (dwhike) > Charleston Lighthouse - The Charleston Lighthouse is located on Sullivans Island, northeast of Charleston. Completed in 1962, it has to be one of the ugliest lighthouses I've ever seen. The tower is 140 feet tall and keepers access the lantern room via the only lighthouse elevator in the US. The lighthouse and grounds are off-limits to the public.

Dan Weemhoff (dwhike) > Hunting Island Lighthouse - The present Hunting Island Light began service in 1875, replacing an earlier light destroyed during the Civil War. It stands 136 feet tall and once housed a 2nd Order Fresnel Lens. The white picket fence surrounds the original grounds. The brick foundations are all that is left of the original keeper and fog signal buildings but two renovated outbuildings are open to tour.

Dan Weemhoff (dwhike) > Morris Island Light - The lighthouse you see today is the third to occupy this site. It stands 158 feet tall and housed a 1st Order Fresnel Lens. It began operation in 1876 and was originally 2700 feet inland. It is now 1600 feet offshore and the closest viewpoint is at Folly Beach.
