Dan Weemhoff (dwhike) > MP 458.2 Balsam Mountain Rd - Mile High Overlook - Balsam Mountain road is a spur road that heads north from the parkway 9 miles to the Balsam Mountain Campground and Smoky Mountains National Park. Here, on a clear day, is a magestic view of the Smoky Mountain ridgeline. Icouldn't decide which exposure I liked better so I posted them both.
