Courthouse Falls has always been one of my favorite western North Carolina cascades. As it turns out, it is now only about a ten or so mile drive from where we now live so I can literally visit it as often as I'd like! The falls are located off North Carolina Highway 215 about 6 miles south of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Transylvania County. A rather rugged (and frequently washed out) forest road leads to within a quarter mile of the falls so they are quite easy to visit considering their location (as long as you have a high-clearance vehicle). At about 45' in height the falls are located in a deep, lush gorge which enhances the serenity of the place. This album follows the short path to the falls and includes a couple additional cascades you pass on the drive up to the falls. Enjoy...
