Spruce Knob, my 15th highpoint, is typical of mid-Atlantic highpoints in that it is simply the highest bump along a long, high ridge. What makes it unique is that, due to its relatively high elevation (4,863'), it is covered by a Spruce forest quite similar to what I am used to near my home in Michigan. A fine, albeit short, trail loops around the summit area allowing the opportunity to really explore this unique environment...
