Located just north of the Old Faithful area in the Upper Geyser Basin of Yellowstone, Black Sand Basin offers a nice short walk through a small collection of volcanic geothermal features. Hot springs are more common here than geysers, though there are still a couple. Though busy, when we visited, we found Black Sand Basin to be much less crowded than other nearby basins to the north and south. A mostly flat boardwalk provides access to the major features of the basin, most of which I have cataloged in the following album along with a bit of information on each. As always, I hope you ENJOY!!
