McClean House, site of Lee's surrender to Grant - Members of the McClean Family sit on the front porch.
This is a reconstruction of the building built here in 1819. It was a popular stop on the Richmond-Lynchburg Stage Road and was standing at the time of the surrender. The parole passes for confederate soldiers were printed in the basement of the tavern.
