I forgot to write down where these homes were located in Charleston but I'm pretty sure they were near The Battery.
Again, I didn't write down exactly where this home is in downtown Charleston. I do know it was located in one of the wealthy neighbourhoods south of Broad Street.

Located on Sullivans Island, northeast of Charleston. Completed in 1962, this has to be one of the ugliest lighthouses I've ever seen. The tower is 140 feet tall and keepers access the lantern room via the only lighthouse elevator in the US. The lighthouse and grounds are off-limits to the public.

Ft. Moultrie, as seen from the roof of the visitors center, protected Charleston Harbor from 1776-1946. The reconstructed fort is based on the fort built here in 1809. The interior is laid out in five sections representing the time periods it served in...Pre-Civil War, Civil War, 1870's, 1898-1939 Harbor Defense, and WW2.
The northeast wall as you enter the fort. Above the wall rises the WW2 Harbor Entrance Control Post.

Fort Moultrie - Powder Magazine Area
This area represents the fort from 1809 to just before the Civil War. The building with the peaked roof is the ca. 1809 powder magazine.

Inside the pre-Civil War section of the fort is this display of how cannons used to be lifted up onto the walls.
This cannon represents the earliest armament of Ft. Moultrie. In 1776, the fort's 30 smoothbore guns defeated an attack by the British fleet armed with over 200 guns!
The view of Sumter from the walls of Ft. Moultrie. In 1860, after South Carolina seceded, the garrison at Moultrie abandoned the fort and fled to Ft. Sumter.
These guns represent the newer rifled 32-pound guns used by the Confederates during their occupation of the fort during the Civil War.
