Crazy Horse Memorial

Crazy Horse Memorial

The Crazy Horse Memorial is being constructed as a tribute to the North American Indian. It commemorates one of the great heroes of Native American history, Crazy Horse, who never signed a treaty or lost a battle with the United States. Size is everything here. When completed the carving will dwarf even Mt. Rushmore, standing some 563' high and 641' long...the completed face is nearly 90' high (the faces on Mt. Rushmore are 60')! Along with the mountain the visitor center houses a number of museums including the Indian Museum of North America which I found particularly interesting. This was an amazing and moving memorial, I would highly recommend it to ANYONE visiting the Black Hills...
