The Flight 93 Memorial remembers those who gave their lives defending our country on September 11, 2001. It is located about 20 minutes off the Pennsylvania Turnpike near the town of Shanksville. Forty passengers and crew died attempting to retake the plane from hijackers who were believed, now, to be targeting the White House. The hodgepodge of monuments and the small informational building are serving as a temporary memorial until the permanent is completed sometime in 2011...
