County Road 492 View - Heading east out of town on Co. Rd. 492 you are treated to a small view of the surrounding woodlands.

US-41 Rock Cut - Heading into town on US-41
Northern Negaunee City Limits - North Road is the only road that enters Negaunee from the north.

Negaunee's North Side - North of US 41 is the newer part of town. Houses here tend to be one level and are spread out a little more.

Teal Lake - North Shore - Together with Ishpeming, Negaunee has preserved the north shore of Teal Lake so it will always look like this. A favorite hike of mine is in the winter when you can snowshoe the length of the shoreline.

Lakeview Elementary - Lakeview, Negaunee's only elementary school, overlooks Teal Lake.
The Beach - This beach is located across the street from Lakeview Elementary and is usually quite busy in the warmer months.

Teal Lake Watercraft - No boats with motors over 5 HP are allowed on the lake so it is always peaceful.

Miners Park - You pass this unique monument entering Negaunee from the east on US-41. It is a monument to the discovery of Iron Ore here in Negaunee in 1848.

Teal Lake Estates - A new subdivision was created along the south-west shore of Teal Lake a few years back. Some of the nicer homes in town are being built here. I could live without it. The cliffs in the distance are a place I love to hike and now instead of tree covered hills across the lake we get to see houses:(

Mather Mine - This was the last Iron mine to close within city limits. The High School is built on property adjacent to the remaining buildings.

Company Housing - This is somewhat typical of the housing south of US-41. The houses were old company housing for workers at the old mines. Lawns are small and parking is on the street.

FYI-What you have indicated as the Neguanee Historical Society is actually the "Foley House". My good friends Jack and Barb Perala renovated it in the 60's and lived in it until around 1983 and then sold it. The Negaunee Historical Society is a different building and is actually located at 303 E. Main Street.
You did a great job of documenting my home town as well. I haven't lived in Negaunee since 1981. I visit a couple times a year, yet when I am there or look at your photo's it is as if I never left. I am very proud of my hometown!! Go Negaunee Go!
